Avant les vacances d'automne, les Terminales Euros HG ont pu voyager à nouveau, ils partagent avec vous leurs meilleurs souvenirs et leurs interviews sur place.... Enjoy..

Le voyage, par Emma :"During this trip to London we visited lots of different places, learning about many different aspects of this city: financial, historical, multicultural, artistic etc. We also visited diverse museums about art, science, war... Besides that, it was really fulfilling to be immersed in London everyday, and having to navigate with the transport (with which we had a problem everyday but that's part of the experience). We had the opportunity to meet and talk with interesting and nice people while practicing our English and experience for real what we learned in class (whether in terms of speaking skills but also about the city itself). It was also a great experience to be in families because we could live how the live and learn about the sometimes tiny sometimes huge cultural differences and it was one more time agreat opportunity to speak English."

Best memories / meilleurs souvenirs :

"The trip was amazing, I had achieved a child's dream going to London. The moment which stroke me the most was our very first steps in London, were we have seen Big Ben. It was just wonderful! "Morgane

"One of the facts that stroke me the most was the massive number of squirrels in every parks we went, they were not scared of humans and it was possible to approach them easily. Moreover, we visited the royal Albert hall, I was surprised by the size and number of places available. But also by the fact that so many several famous people went there. Finally, the floor can be changed, it can be a scene for a pianist or even a basketball floor which is very impressive." Elisa

"During this trip, I really enjoyed to discover all the different things that the city of London offers. Firstly, this city has an amazing wealth of culture: I particulary saw it thanks to the few museums, we had the chance to discover ( Tate modern, Imperial War museum, Natural History museum...). But also, the fact that we can see such contrasts between some places in the same city, is kind of funny. For example, by visiting London, you can pass from: the City, where you are among impressive big buildings and in short, you just see modernity and wealth...at for example Brick lane, which is totally different. Unlike the city, there is no big buildings...but more old buildings and houses. And moreover, this place is full of street art and symbols of the gentrification that has been made, which is amazing to admire.Besides, during our visit to Brick lane, we found with some friends a small bookstore that was just magical to discover. It looked like the ones we could see in the movies and honestly if I could, I would have stayed there all the day !" Catia

"For my part, I really appreciated the long discussion that Arthur and I were able to have with Thierry, our host, very rich and fun, a good exchange. Otherwise in the visits, walking around the city was what I preferred to do, apart from the fact that the natural history museum is sensational" Matéo

"The moment that made the biggest impression on me in London was not a visit or a memory with the class, but perhaps a more intimate moment. On Wednesday Matéo and I had the chance to chat with Thierry, the father of the family that was hosting us. The three of us spent maybe more than an hour discussing various subjects as I would have done in France with friends. It was a really great moment where I managed to get over the language barrier and felt totally at ease with a foreigner (as well as having a great memory to keep from this stay in England)" Arthur

" I liked when we went to the paskistanese neighborhood to study gentrification because it was a blend of cultures and styles. Also, the street art (which was massively present) was making it more special, with its proper history. It felt like every pieces of street art (graffitis, mosaïque, collage…) were like the timeline of the streets. It also gave me the opportunity to discover new art techniques and a new vision of a more unique and hidden part of london that i had never visited before."  Lilou

"During the trip, I really enjoyed visiting some places on my own, especially the Natural History Museum, which is absolutely impressive and definitely a place to go!  Gaëtan

Celia will keep very good memories of this trip. What she appreciated the most was the diversity of the places she discovered. She was very happy to see new worlds every day. Indeed each day was based on a different theme. She was able to discover all the aspects of London when she had never been there before!

Othilia  really enjoyed the trip to London which was very interesting and allowed her to bond with the people in the class. She will remember this trip for a long time.

Pauline, impossible to choose a good memory, we spent a lot of incredible moments that we will always remember

"My best memory of London was when we went on the roof of the Walkie-talkie because we had a beautiful view of all the city. I also loved the time that we had with our host family." Leo

"What a beautiful memory!! This was my first real trip out of France and I am so thankful of the chance I had to have these three teachers and students with me :) I really spent good time in London, with my friends, in the host family and by visiting all the aspects of the city: its cultural aspect, political, historical, economical and even touristic! That’s for sure, there were so many things to see which I wanted to take in picture that I was, during the all trip, the « end of the line » !! ^^ . Also, my « crush » of the week was clearly the Royal Albert Hall !! I fell literally in love of its inside and I was amazed during all the visit by hearing how this concert hall is used in different ways. I wish I could return to London to see a beautiful classical ballet or piano concerto in it". Mélissandre

" The trip was great from the start all the way to the end. Full of activities and filled with good moments this is a trip a I will remember and that all thanks to you, so thank you so much for taking us (Favourite part we’re the museums with all its knowledge to share )" Eliott

"I really loved the trip to London that the teachers organized, they did a huge job so that we could discover as many things as possible and it was great ! I appreciated the fact of discovering different aspects of the city of London in connection with the program, it was very enriching and I left with lots of knowledge and unforgettable memories. Moreover, the fact of being in a host family allowed us to be even more immersed in the language and the culture and I find that better than if we had been in a hotel !" Méliane
